How to Commission a Discord Bot

calendar1 Last Updated

While there are several Discord bots already on the market, you can’t always find something that meets a specific need. In those instances, you will need to either build a Discord bot on your own using python or commission a coder to do it for you. This post will cover what you should do when it comes to commissioning a Discord bot.

How to Commission a Discord Bot

Step 1: Brainstorm the results you want from a Discord Bot.

Step 2: Find a good coder to commission on Fiverr.

Step 3: Explain to the coder exactly what you are looking for in your Discord bot.

Step 4: Answer any questions they may have for you.

Step 5: When they return the work to you, check the results.

Step 6: Ask for any necessary revisions.

Step 7: Approve the work.

Step 8: Add the bot to your Discord server.

Step 1: Brainstorm the results you want from a Discord Bot

While you probably have a basic idea of what you want your bot to do, take the time to brainstorm and research specifically what you want. Write down what you want the bot to do and how it will be activated. You should also take note of who should be able to control the bot.

Is it for everyone in the server, or should it be limited to specific roles? Will the bot only respond to things that happen in the server, or can it react to external elements (such as Twitter posts)?

The better idea you have of what you want in a bot before you talk to a coder, the easier the process will be overall.

Step 2: Find a good coder to commission on Fiverr

Fiverr is an online marketplace where you can find designers, coders, and freelancers who range in skill and pricing. When searching for a Discord Bot coder, you will be able to find dozens of freelancers who are willing to work with you. Read through their task descriptions and reviews until you find one that you want to work with, then reach out to them with your project idea.

Look for a coder who will allow you to make at least 1-2 revisions after they have completed their work. This way, you will be assured that you get what you want.

Step 3: Explain to the coder exactly what you are looking for in your Discord bot

Create an order with one of the coders through Fiverr. Explain your idea as fully as you can to them and ask them if it is something they can do. Share your expectations of what you expect out of the project from them so that they know exactly what you want. Be kind and courteous in your request.

Step 4: Answer any questions they may have for you

Wait for their response. If they need any clarification on your instructions, they are likely to ask you several questions. Answer the questions to the best of your ability to make sure they fully understand what you need.

Step 5: When they return the work to you, check the results

When they return the project to you, they should have a way for you to see how the bot works (they may film it on their own Discord server or give you some access to it). Check the work and the results and compare them to what you originally wanted.

Step 6: Ask for any necessary revisions

If you find issues in the bot and need changes or moderations, let the coder know and ask for revisions. Make sure that you are thorough. Thank them for their time.

Step 7: Approve the work

When the bot is ready and you are happy with the work, approve it and pay the coder for their time. Feel free to tip if they did a fantastic job.

Step 8: Add the bot to your Discord server

After you have paid for the work, you will receive your Discord bot and you will be able to add it to your server.

Conclusion

When you can’t find a Discord bot that meets your needs, your options are to build one yourself or commission someone to build it for you. You can get one built for a very reasonable price.
