How to Set Up LioranBoard for Streaming

calendar1 Last Updated

Whether you are looking for either a stream deck alternative or an interesting way to make channel point redemptions more interactive for viewers, LioranBoard might be just what you are looking for. It's free, easy to set up, and honestly has a lot more features than even the Elgato Stream Deck itself!

In this article, we will be looking at what LioranBoard is, how to use it and some cool features to help your stream stand out.

What is LioranBoard?

LioranBoard is a stream deck alternative that can also be used to make engaging channel point redemptions like changing cameras, scenes, or changing filters on sources in OBS. It is very easy to set up these redeems, you can even find templates online or even create your own. Although it takes a little more than a stream deck to get everything installed and working correctly, we’ll get to that in the next part!

Unlike other alternatives, like Touch Portal which will make you upgrade for a much larger and easier to use layout, LioranBoard is completely free. It will only work in OBS Live or OBS Studio though, so if you are thinking about using LioranBoard, maybe it’s time to switch up from Streamlabs.

How to Connect LioranBoard to Twitch

Although it is easy to set up LioranBoard, there are a few things you are going to have to do to get it working. First, you will need to download OBS WebSocket. Then install WebSocket by double-clicking the EXE file you have just downloaded. Now that you have OBS WebSocket installed, you will need to make it safe. Launch OBS then on the top bar go to tools – WebSocket server settings, then click Enable authentication and choose a memorable password!

Now it’s time to get LioranBoard!

  1. Step 1

    Download LioranBoard.

  2. Step 2

After downloading LioranBoard, extract the zip file and install LioranBoard Receiver.exe. It is recommended to not install LioranBoard in the Program Files folder as it often will block LioranBoard from writing in its own folder.

  3. Step 3

Now connect LioranBoard to OBS by clicking connect to OBS and entering the password you created for OBS WebSockets.

  4. Step 4

Add the LioranBoard Transmitter (tsl_transmitter.html) to OBS as a browser source. You will need to add this source to every scene in OBS to ensure LioranBoard is always working, and make sure it is always active.

  5. Step 5

Finally, install Lioran Stream Deck PC. This will make it so you are able to easily change scenes, activate sources and control OBS as you would on a stream deck.

You can also add the Lioran Stream Deck Android app file to your mobile phone if you are an android user – you will need to enter your IP address for this which can easily be found using the file called what’s my local IP.

Best LioranBoard Settings and Tips

Did you know you can use LioranBoard to create channel points to allow your viewers to interact with your OBS? It’s very simple to set up in the receiver, all you need to do is connect your Twitch.

To connect your Twitch to LioranBoard, first, open the receiver application on your PC then click Link Your Twitch then Open URL. Now login to Twitch, if it isn’t already logged in, then click on Authorizeand LioranBoard should now connect to your channel. Test your connection by opening OBS then clicking Connect to Twitch. Many content creators have created some interesting channel point redemptions for you to use, some of which are even games! My personal favorite is called Petsuamai, a game in which viewers can use channel points to feed, clean, and just look after a Tamagotchi-style pet. It’s free, along with many other cool games and widgets, at StreamUP.
